Mourning Ivy by misteriddles Mourning Ivy by misteriddles
One of my favourite places in all the world: Highgate Cemetery, London. The Victorians' fascination for death seems most obvious at Highgate. Its state of disrepair is increasingly under control thanks to the work of the Friends of Highgate Cemetery [link]
Highgate's "Circle of Lebanon" and Columbarium were used as scenery in several Hammer and Amicus horror flicks of late 60s/early 70s. When I lived in London I visited several times.

Amazing capture. I myself have a strange fascination with cemeteries and gardens. I see I am not alone ;) (Wink)

It's understandable why you like it so much, it's quite beautiful and imagine it looks even better in print.

Lovely pic! Great use of high contrast b/w photography which I adore.

You lived in London?! You lucky dog! I hope to one day. Only visited there and didn't get a chance to see Highgate. Love the Hammer films, and hope to make it there one day.

Looking forward to seeing more of your photos once you get them reprinted. :) (Smile) as for your pics being stolen . . . that's horrible! :( (Sad)

This is a beautiful capture. Increadible emotion is apparent in not only the face (that being the obvious part) but the entire set up that nature has provided. Good eye.
